Biology: member of the salmon family. Prefers to swim in the company of a school of fellow whitefish in the gloomy, cool water. Fish is dining on insects, freshwater shrimp, small fish and fish eggs, and bottom organisms. On average they reach 17 to 22 inches (43-56 cm) and weigh 1.5 to 4 pounds (0.7-1.8 kg).
